"GO LO CO2" - Citroën's clever name for a way to reduce driving emissions

Filed under:

If you think some of Citroën's latest vehicles are well-worth buying, I hope you've got a gas guzzler. For a limited time, Citroën is offering extra discounts to new car buyers in the UK who trade in their old car for a new Citroën with lower CO2 emissions. Selected C1, C2, C3, C4 and Berlingo Multispace models are part of the promotion, which is worth £500. Alternatively, if your current car was made before 2001, you can automatically get the discount, called GO LO CO2.

Considering that Citroën has so many models that emit fewer than 120 grams of CO2 per kilometer, I suppose you don't need to be driving a gas guzzler in the first place to take advantage of GO LO CO2. Find more details after the break.

GO LO ON CO2 WITH CITROËN AND SAVE ££s

Encouraging even more new car buyers to get into its low emission cars this October, Citroën - two-times GreenFleet 'Car Manufacturer Of The Year' - is launching an innovative "GO LO CO2" promotion.

The unique "carbon-trading-down" scheme applies to a wide selection of some of the Company's most popular models. Customers who part-exchange their current vehicle for a new Citroën with a lower emissions figure are rewarded with special cashbacks of up to £1,000. Those with cars registered before 2001 automatically qualify for the offer.

Selected C1, C2, C3, C4 and Berlingo Multispace models benefit from a £500 "GO LO CO2" reward which, combined with other cashbacks, means that new car buyers can drive off in a C1 Vibe 1.0i 3dr for just £5,995, or a family-size C4 1.4i 16V LX hatchback for £9,995.

Buyers of selected versions of Citroën's great value Xsara Picasso can enjoy the additional £1,000 cashback, that reduces the price of the 1.6i 16V 110hp Desire to just £9,995.

The "GO LO CO2" promotion runs alongside other Citroën promotions on selected models, including 0% Finance, free insurance on sporty versions of the C2 and a free Twin DVD player on Xsara Picasso Desire models.

Citroën is firmly committed to, and is increasingly being recognised for, producing affordable cars that feature cutting-edge technologies to minimise their impact on the environment. With over 20 models returning CO2 emissions of 120g/km or less, and three of the top ten lowest CO2-emitting diesel cars on sale in the UK, it is perhaps no surprise that the Company was named 'Car Manufacturer Of The Year' at last month's GreenFleet Awards.
