This picture is intended to make 2 points:
1. The exterior of automobiles is made out of soft steel/aluminum. Wrapping more soft steel around you - as in an SUV - doesn't mean you are safer. It only means you are heavier.
2. Sometimes it is best to evaluate where you are parking before you park there.
NOTE: I am not advocating that cars be made tree-proof
