Videos, Petersen Auto Museum tour

This video is a tour of the Peterson Auto Museum's Alternative Fuels exhibit from G4's Attack of the Show. Turbine car, steam car, hybrids, plug-ins and much more. Below the fold is another video tour of the museum. That includes video of an electric car from 1897, nuclear powered car and other interesting things. The Youtube video is actually part 4 of a 6 part video tour of the entire museum. Alt fuel exhibit stars 4:40 into part 3.

The 1897 electric car has an interesting history. It's was built by a 17-year-old. He even built the electric motor. It's made from lumber, wheelchair and bicycle parts. The first electric car actually goes back further than that to the 1830s. Robert Anderson of Scotland invented the first crude electric carriage. The museum is located at 6060 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036. It's open Tuesday through Sunday 10 AM to 6 PM.
