Ford has already confirmed that, like GM and Chrysler, they are working on a new diesel V-8 for their next-generation light-duty pickup trucks that are due out in late 2008 (as 2009 models). It's now being reported that the new 4.4L V-8 will also find a home in the next version of the Expedition. With the current Expedition rated at a mere 12 mpg in the city, they need all the help they can get.
